Leatherheads

George Clooney returns to the director's chair for this light-hearted romp dealing with the rise of professional football in the 1920's. Although the movie was well conceived and the casting ideal, it still lacked pazzaz. It was watchable but not as engaging as I expected even with the supporting cast filled by actors from O Brother, Where Art Thou? Hopefully Clooney and Zellweger's next team up will be more rewarding. If nothing else, we will always have their wonderful performances in The Facts of Life and The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to tide us over until then.
